However, it is a question of validity, and I am a liberal (in the vote for the first time in 2008!), So I'll take the time to share an answer. I have mixed feelings on this issue, especially because I from California. As you said, we try to lift up our primary date to February, which can cause a variety of other states to do the same, resulting in the problem.
